Diane Kato adopted her first Bichon Frise, Champion Di’s Demonstrative Derek of Boz (“Derek”) in 1990.  “Derek” was shown by professional handler, Paul Flores, and earned the title of Champion at 9 months of age.  Diane also adopted two girls, Champion Déjà vu Zisa Punim and Champion Princess Rita of Boz.  Both girls earned their Championship and were breed, which commenced Fairchild Bichon Frise.
Diane resided in Sacramento, CA until 2004 at which time she and her partner moved to south Auburn, CA (located near Newcastle and Ophir). Diane, Joe and the Bichons love their new abode and they have many new friends in the country.
Diane has bred more than twenty Champions including two International Champions.  Each breeder has a style they want to attain and Diane has done this with her latest Champion, Dharma Fairchild.  The Fairchild style is a regale Bichon with a beautiful head, great movement, excellent pigment, sweet,  happy and charming temperament.  Diane breeds zero to two litters per year.  All moms and dads are screened (OFA-hips, Patella, CERF-eyes).  If a Bichon does not pass any of the foregoing certifications, he/she is not bred.
Renata Drummond, professional handler, started showing for Diane in 2006.  Ms. Drummond has handled the following Fairchild Bichon Frises to their Championship –
Champion Boccelli Fairchild (2007 San Diego Specialty winner’s dog), Champion Farrah Fairchild (2006), Champion Pippin Fairchild (2007 Bichon Frise of Northern California Specialty Best of Opposite), and Champion Dharma Fairchild (2007).   It will be exciting to see what these girls will produce.
